After applying for work at a restaurant, she was invited to interview for a new position by a man who was later identified as Fox. To discuss the job, he invited her to visit a nearby motel (the same one where Keckler was heading).
The parole board was not influenced by Fox’s letter or his teenage daughter’s tears of joy at being made an orphan after her mother had committed suicide. Fox was sentenced at death and the following 12 years, 7 month and 17 days were spent on death row at Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, Lucasville. Fox was executed with lethal injection on Wednesday, February 12, 2003. Fox did not make any statements before being administered the deadly chemicals. From the moment the first chemical was administered, Fox was declared dead.
Fox was convicted by a three-judge panel of aggravated murder, kidnapping, and sentenced to his execution on June 27, 1990. Fox spent 12 years 7 months and 17 days on death row while his case was appealed through both the state and federal courts.
