Born January 12, 1982, Ricardo Schiesari Barreto Cruz is a Brazilian singer- songwriter. He is also a journalist and semi-regular member in the Anison band JAM Project. He is a regular tour companion of the band when they visit Latin America and appears on many of their singles, starting with the B-side to 2005’s Meikyu no Prisoner.
Ricardo was able to return to Japan with JAM Project in Japan late 2011 and early 2012. Go! GOING!! worldwide tour. Cross World is the song he wrote for Hironobu Kaageyama’s 2012 album Rock Japan. MugenLab, a YouTube channel that he started in June 2014, features his travels to Japan and his professional life. He debuted his EP, “On the Rocks”, at the 2014 anime convention Anime Friends on July 20. He also created with other Brazilian singers the project “Cavaleiros in Concert”, which was a concert featuring songs from the anime Saint Seiya, performed by Ricardo Rossi, Rodrigo Rossi and Larissa Tassi. They brought this concert to many cities in Brazil.
He was the one who wrote the lyrics to the song “Sempre SonhandoYume Oibito” from JAM Project’s 2006 6th best album, Get over the Border. He collaborated with Wada Kuji in 2009 to create a song that was both Japanese and Portuguese. Ricardo joined JAM Project for their Reunion concert on September 17, 2010. The original members sang alongside the current members.

Cruz was a Brazilian musician from the mid-1990s through early 2000s. He was also a journal writer. His work included translating from Japanese into Portuguese and English. He can speak Japanese and Portuguese fluently. He met Hironobu Kageyama, the current leader of JAM Project, at the largest anime convention, Anime Friends, in 2003. Hironobu was interested in Ricardo’s voice and offered to give him a demo. He was later promoted to secondary member of JAM Project after his demo track.
Ricardo was in-studio for JAM Project’s first time in 2005. He started with Neppu Cybuster Schiffpu! He performed with Ichirou Mizuki, the original leader, on Stormbringer in 2006. He shared the stage with Ichirou Mizuki shortly after, in 2007 at the fourth concert of the group, JAM Project JAPAN CIRCUIT 2007, Break-Out.
In 2019, he composed and sang in JAM Project’s opening theme for the second season of One-Punch Man. The song is titled ‘’Seijaku no Apostle’’ (静寂のアポストル, lit. “The Silent Apostle”) in Japanese, or “Uncrowned Greatest Hero” internationally. Cruz also appeared in the music video.
