Wynn signed on September 7, 2007 with the New Orleans Saints. Wynn played in 12 games that season for the Saints, including one start. He also recorded 13 tackles as well as 3.5 sacks. In 2008, he was a free agent.
Wynn was re-signed to a one-year contract by the Washington Redskins on March 16, 2009. He was released on October 10 to make room for punter Glenn Pakulak, and was re-signed on October 12 when Pakulak was waived. He was released again on October 17, to make room for Pakulak.
Wynn signed with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League on October 25, 2010.

University of Notre Dame recruited Wynn in 1992. In his first season, he was redshirted. He recorded 19 tackles and three sacks during the 1993 season. He also started three games at strongside linebacker and two at left defensive end. Wynn was a part of ten 1994 games. He started six of the ten at right outside linebacker, while four other players, including the Fiesta Bowl with the University of Colorado, were at left defensive end. Wynn had 47 tackles, one sack, four stops to lose, forced two fumbles, and recovered another. As a junior, Wynn earned All-American honorable notice honors in 1995 with 57 tackles and six stops for loss. He also led the team with 6.5sacks. Wynn was a senior defensive end and made 61 tackles. He also had six stops for loss, nine sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one deflected pass. As a senior, he was the team’s Most Valuable player and Lineman of Year.
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Wynn in the 21st round of the 1997 NFL Draft. Wynn was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1997 to the All-Rookie team, which was comprised of Pro Football Writers Association/Pro Football Weekly/Foot News, College & Pro Football Newsweekly. With eight starts, he played in 16 of the 16 games. With 60 tackles and two tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and one fumble recovery, he finished tenth in the team. He started the first 15 games in 1998 at each of the four defensive line positions. Wynn ended the year with 58 tackles and one sack. In 1999, Wynn played in 10 of the 12 games and finished with 37 tackles. He also had 1.5 sacks, one forced turnover, and one fumble recovery. He played in the final seven games of the season and all playoff games. He finished the postseason with five tackles. He played 14 games as a strongside defensive end in 2000. He had 55 tackles, three sacks and two tackles for loss. Wynn was sixth in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense with 75 tackles. He tied for fifth with five total sacks. These are both career highs. For the first time in his professional career, he started in all 16 games.
In May 2008, Wynn visited with the New York Giants. He agreed to terms on a contract with the team on June 1, 2008. The move reunited him with Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, who was head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars when Wynn was drafted by the team in 1997.
