Thomas Carter, born September 18, 1974, is an American professional wrestler. He is better known as his ring name Reckless Youth. He has participated in many North American independent promotions, including Combat Zone Wrestling, East Coast Wrestling Association and Chikara. There, he was also one of the founding members along with Mike Quackenbush. Bill Apter, senior editor at Pro Wrestling Illustrated, called Reckless Youth one of the “most recognizable independent stars” within the United States in January 1998.

Youth married Kathy on November 4, 2000 and they had three children together. Youth pursued a career in accounting as a side occupation while working for independents. He is currently the Director at Jones Apparel’s Tax Department.

Youth made his first Combat Zone Wrestling appearance (CZW), against Justice Pain at The Staple Gun. On June 19, 1999, he faced Mike Quackenbush (and Ric Blade) in a three-way fight at Down In Flames. Youth also had a memorable dance at Un F’N Believable against Trent Acid, Blade. The next three shows saw him face Minoru Fujita, but it was a loss. In 2003, he made his final CZW appearance against Nick Berk and Nick Mondo in a fatal four-way.

Carter was part of a small “backyard wrestling” group, including D’Lo Brown as he grew up in New Jersey. Carter and his friends rented a real wrestling ring from Larry Sharpe’s Monster Factory. Sharpe offered to book the young men for his shows if they enrolled in his wrestling school and sold tickets to live events. This was after a few years. Carter made his pro debut in September 1995. During his rookie year, Carter also trained at Al Snow’s Bodyslammers Gym Lima, Ohio.

Youth made his debut in Great Lakes Wrestling’s ladder match against Steve Nixon. Later, he started East Coast Invasion with Diamond (later Simon Diamond). Youth won the GLW World title, and competed in the final match against “Dirty Don Montoya” in a match that featured two out of three fall matches on January 17, 1997.
