Rayo de Jalisco Jr. is one of the most popular and richest Mexican wrestler who was born on January 1, 1960 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. was a son of Rayo de Jalisco Sr., a legendary Mexican wrestler, and the nephew to wrestlers Tony Sugar (and Black Sugar). His father didn’t want him to train his son in his chosen profession so he instead trained under Diablo Velazco.
Rayo de Jalisco Jr. dropped “Junior”, his last name. His son Rayo de Jalisco Jr., who had been wrestling for two years, adopted the “Rayo de Jalisco”, sometimes referred to as el Hijo de Rayo de Jalisco Jr., or Rayo de Jalisco Jr. Rayo Jr. changed his name to Hombre Sin Nombre (the man with no name), as part of a storyline in which the son tried to escape Rayo de Jalisco Jr. Rayo de Jalisco Jr.’s son would eventually take up the title of “Rayman” and work for CMLL. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. is no longer employed by CMLL. Instead, he works for a variety of independent circuit Mexican promotions. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. was awarded the WWA World Heavyweight Championship. He defeated Rey Misterio Sr. at the finals in a tournament to crown a new champipn. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. holds this title 17 years and 66 days later. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. returned briefly to CMLL in 2004, teaming with Black Warrior Jr. and El Canek, to win the CMLL World Trios Championship. The title was quickly lost to Tarzan Boy, El Terrible, and Hector Garza. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. sustained another serious injury in 2005 when he was hurt in a match against Mascara ano 2000. His legs were caught on the ropes while he jumped out from the ring, and he tore ligaments. He was out of the ring almost half a decade after the injury, but he fully recovered and returned to the ring. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. returned to CMLL in May 2010. He sided with the CMLL loyalists during their fight with Los Invasores. Invasore members Mascara Ano 2000 and Universo 2000 were particularly involved in the feud. This reaffirmed the long-running storyline between them. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. worked only a handful of matches for CMLL between 2010 and 2013, but he was promoted again in 2013. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. only worked a few matches for CMLL in mid-2010, but he returned to the promotion in early 2013. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. and Rush beat Universo 2000 Jr., Mr. Niebla and El Terrible in the finals. On March 17, 2013, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. participated in a four-way steel cage match, billed by IWRG “Deadly Prison” against Cien Caras Jr. and Mascara Ano2000 Jr. Hijo de Mascara Ano 2000 intervened during the match, which led to Pirata Morgan Jr. entering the match to intensify the rivalry between Los Piratas Junior and Los Capos Junior. Pirata Morgan was the last man to enter the cage, and he had his hair cut.
Rayo de Jalisco Jr. was awarded the Mexican National Heavyweight Title two more times over the next few years. He defeated Gran Markus Jr., El Egipico and won the title. His third and last reign ended in 1994 when he was defeated by Pierroth Jr. They defended the title against Mascara Ano 2000 & Universo 2000 as well as against El Canek & Apolo Dantes. Gran Markus Jr., El Hijo del Gladiador and Rayo de Jalisco Jr. won the title from Rayo de Jalisco Jr. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. was awarded the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship by Apolo Dantes on April 14, 1996. This is the highest singles title in the company. He defeated Apolo Dantes three times, and also defeated Gran Markus Jr. (Mascara Ano 2000). After a slow-building storyline, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. lost his title to Steel on April 18, 1997. Steel, who was working for the World Wrestling Federation as “Val Venis” in 1997, left CMLL. This ended the storyline with Rayo de Jalisco Jr. but did not bring about a satisfactory conclusion. Steel was allowed to return to CMLL by CMLL, but only for a short time. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. lost a Lucha de Apuestas to Steel. This gave Rayo yet another win. Rayo de Jalisco Jr., a two-time CMLL World Heavyweight champion, was unmasking Steel a few months later. He defeated Universo 2000 to win the belt. After successfully defending the title against Cien Caras 2000 and Mascara Ano 2000 he lost it to Universo 2000. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. was hurt in the match against Universo 2000. A mistimed Tombstone pildriver caused a neck injury that forced him out of the ring and nearly led to his retirement.

Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Spanish for “Lightning Bolt From Jalisco Jr.” was born January 1, 1960. He is the ringname of a Mexican Luchador Enmascarado (masked professional wrestler), whose true name has not been revealed according to Lucha Libre traditions. Rayo de Jalisco Jr., a well-known Lucha Libre wrestler since the beginning of Lucha Libre, is Rayo de Jalisco Jr.’s son. Rayman also wrestles under Rayo de Jalisco Jr. Rayo Jr. is a former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion twice and reigning WWA World Heavyweight Champion since March 21, 2003. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. is not known by his real name, which is common with Mexican masked wrestlers.
Rayo de Jalisco Jr., the future Rayo de Jalisco Jr., became a professional wrestler at age 15. He initially wrestled as Rayman to keep his father away from knowing he was actually wrestling. After a year of being a wrestler, he finally told his father that he was actually wrestling and that he was serious. Rayo de Jalisco Sr. saw his son wrestle and decided to let him work as Rayo de Jalisco Jr., wearing the Rayo de Jalisco lightingbolt mask. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. spent most of the 1970s working alongside his father and received further training. In the 1980s, he began working for Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre in Mexico, Mexico’s biggest professional wrestling organization. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. started a storyline with MS-1 called a feud. It ended in Rayo de Jalisco Jr. defeating MS-1 in a Luchas de apuestas match, mask vs. face, to reveal the villain (called a Rudo, in Lucha Libre). Rayo de Jalisco Jr. formed a highly successful team with Cien Caras in the 1980s. They worked main events across Mexico. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. won his first singles title when he defeated Pirata Morgan to win the Mexican National Heavyweight Championship. His first victory in the championship also brought him his greatest rivalry, as Cien Caras turned against Rayo de Jalisco Jr. to help him win the Mexican National Heavyweight Title. On March 30, 1984, Cien Caras beat his former teammate to win the title. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. defeated MS-1 on June 21, 1985 to win the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship. This was in the main event at an Arena Mexico show. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. teamed up with Ringo Mendoza Jr. and the Kiss in November 1985 to win the Mexican National Trios Championship (El Brazo de Oro and Brazo de Plata). The title was held by the trio for 275 days until it was lost to Jerry Estrada, Pirata Morgan and Hombre Bala. Rayo de Jalisco lost to MS-1 on March 20, 1987 ending his 637-day reign of NWA World Light Heavyweight Champion. In 1990, the conflict between Rayo de Jalisco Jr. & Cien Caras had become so heated that they were the main attraction at EMLL’s 57th anniversary show in a Luchas de Apuestas match. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. beat Cien Caras by two to one, forcing Cien Caras unmasking.
