Ramya Haridas, an Indian politician and social worker is currently serving as Member, Lok Sabha, (MP), from Alathur in Kerala since May 2019. She is a member the Indian National Congress (INC), a party in Kerala, and the daughter Radha, a worker for All India Mahila Congress. In the 2019 elections, she is the only woman to be elected as a Kerala state parliamentarian. She is also the second Dalit woman MP from Kerala.
Her candidacy for the 2019 elections was announced when she was currently serving as Block Panchayat President in Kunnamangalam district. She was the only Lok Sabha candidate for Kerala, handpicked and selected by Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
