The year was 1990. Samuelson joined forces with prominent figures like Steven Spielberg and General Norman Schwarzkopf to form the STARBRIGHT Foundation. It is a charity that focuses on developing technologies and programs that teach and empower children to face the emotional, physical and social challenges that come with their illness. A few years after, they created the social network interactive Starbright World that helps seriously sick children develop relationships with their peers using audio, video text, avatars, and communications.
