Peter Lundgren (born 29 January 1965) was an ex-professional male tennis athlete and tennis instructor from Sweden. He was a fan of indoor tennis in hardcourts, on grass and hardcourts in preference to clay.

He was granted the “leave of absence” from the LTA in June 2007. In 2008, Lundgren was absent for a few days from work due to his father was sick however he declared his desire to return to work for British tennis. In 2008, he began coaching players like the Cypriot tennis star Marcos Baghdatis. In February 2009, Lundgren began coaching Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria. He then became Stanislas Wawrinka’s coach. In September of 2011, Lundgren and Wawrinka separated. Lundgren has since moved on to instruct Vicht virtual tennis at Houston, Texas. In March 2014, Lundgren began coaching Daniela Hantuchova.

Lundgren later took over the coaching of Marat Safin. He coached Safin to win winning the 2003 Australian Open championship and worked with him through August. In September of 2006 it was announced that he was going to help with to coach the British Davis Cup team for the next two years.

He took over from Peter Carter as coach for Roger Federer they worked together between 2000 and 2003 before separating.

This was the golden age of Swedish tennis in which Lundgren said “We had at most 14 players in the top 100. ( Don’t forget the size of the Swedish population, it makes it even better this achievement)”. Lundgren while managing to have some big wins over Ivan Lendl, Mats Wilander, Michael Chang, Jim Courier, Thomas Muster and Pete Sampras, was not able to achieve consistency and he said himself that “I was a little up and down. Sometimes I could lose motivation and then suddenly get thrashed against lower ranked players.” He played his last match on tour against Karol Kučera in Copenhagen Open and retired at 30 years of age and then went into coaching.
