The following year the Attack became part of to the National Professional Soccer League and once more lost to the Dynamo again, this time in the opening stage of the playoffs. After the 1990-91 season, the Attack relocated away from Atlanta and moved to Kansas City, where Hattrup was a part of two seasons as a player, 1992-1993 and 1991-1992. The 1991-1992 season was the year that Hattrup came back to league scoring list and finished 11th. But the Attack once more fell in the semis losing this time in the finals to Canton Invaders. The last time Hattrup was as a member of his team, the Attack finally achieved victory and beat their opponents the Cleveland Crunch to take the NPSL title. All told, Hattrup was a four-time NPSL All Star during his period in the Attack. The Mutiny traded him to the Dallas Burn where Burn coach Dave Dir moved Hattrup to the wide midfield. As Hattrup noted, “The strange thing is he told me he wanted me to come and score goals. In the middle of midfield that’s fine. But in the 3-5-2, to be honest, I don’t have the engine. I’m not going to be able to go to the penalty box for the whole game.”
In 1986 in 1986, The Tacoma Stars of the Major Indoor Soccer League chose Hattrup as their top selection in their draft. The player joined the Stars following the end in the WSA season, and went to play for the next two years with the Stars. The 1986-1987 season was a successful time with the Stars.
