A right-arm fast-medium-bowler, George plays his first-class cricket for the Queensland Bulls.
George was a part of the Australian Test touring team in 2010. He was selected as an emergency replacement during the tour to New Zealand after a series of injuries sustained by Australian pacemen. He then joined the squad for the series in 2010 with Pakistan in England as well as the trip to India. George played his first Test in the second Test in the Second India in Bangalore and took two wickets.

George moved up the levels of West Torrens DCC, and like many Test Match players struggled to achieve a significant impact in the junior grades. In the time of the 2005/06 season George began taking a few wickets at the top of the order with The Western Eagles and soon won an opportunity to join the South Australian Shield Cricket team. He was recently honoured by the name of the Ferguson-George Cricket Academy for promising young players from the West Torrens zone named after George and his Southern Redbacks team-mate and fellow Australian Cricket Representative Callum Ferguson.
George was awarded an initial contract in 2005/06 , but he ended up losing it the next season. He was signed again in the season 2008/09. He made his debut in Test cricket in the team of Australia at the end of the 2nd Test in India in Bangalore.
In 2014 George moved to Queensland on a rookie contract in the hope of more opportunity. In the Matador Cup George capitalized on his chances, taking 11 wickets. Before the 2015/16 season, George was rewarded with a senior contract by the Bulls.
