Sheenagh Pugh (born 20 December 1950) is a British novelist, poet and translator, who is a writer in English. Her novel, Stonelight (1999) won the Wales Book of the Year award.

Pugh is a native of Birmingham. She learned language in The University of Bristol. She lives now in Shetland but spent several decades living in Cardiff where she taught creative writing in Cardiff’s University of Glamorgan until retiring in the year 2008. The collection of poems, Stonelight (1999) won the Wales Book of the Year award in 2000. She twice has won the Cardiff International Poetry Competition. The collection of poems The Beautiful Lie (Seren, 2002) was selected to be a finalist for the Whitbread Prize and the collection The Movement of Bodies (Seren 2005) was chosen as an official Poetry Book Society recommendation and was also nominated for the T S Eliot Prize.

Collection by Pugh Long-Haul Travellers was published by Seren in the fall of 2008. It contains a variety of poems that are set in Norway and a story about Murat Reis, the Dutch privateer who became Barbary pirate Murat Reis. Long- Haul Travellers was shortlisted for the Roland Mathias Prize and longlisted for the Wales Book of the Year prize. Pugh has since released Short Days, Long Shadows in 2014, and Afternoons Go Nowhere, 2019 Both of them are published by Seren.
