In April of 2015 and April of 2016 two concerts by the author titled “Dialogue to musical temperaments. Compositions in non-traditional and traditional musical tuning” were held on the brand new stage at The Mariinsky Theatre.
It was 1993 when Chernobrivets was awarded his doctoral thesis in the field of art history (“Style and subject matter. Functional analogies”. Based on the source material of clavier music composed by George Frideric Handel). The field of his research interest is the harmony of music, style and aesthetics. He released his monograph titled “Basics of musical aesthetics”. In the last few years, Chernobrivetz has been occupied by research related to the possibility of a different music tuning (20-tone equivalent temperament).

Peter Anatolievich Chernobrivets (Russian: Piotr Anatol’evich Chenobrivets) (born on the 24th of August, 1965 in Leningrad, USSR) is a Russian composer, musicologist and lecturer.
Chernobrivets began teaching in the year 1986 as a teacher of the special secondary school of music at the Leningrad State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Musical Theory of the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory giving the classes of harmony and musical aesthetics.
