Perry Florio (born (1967-07-15 ) July 15 1997) was a former American professional player of ice hockey who played most of his time playing for the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL.

Florio also was a participant also in Roller Hockey International for the Philadelphia Bulldogs in 1994 and 1995. He also played at the RHI All-Star Game in 1994.

Florio was a transferee from Northern Michigan University, where he played in ten games during his senior year of 1989.

Florio played in the 1986 and 1987 seasons with the Providence College Friars, leading the team in penalty minutes during both seasons. After the 1986 season, Florio was selected as a member of the United States men’s national junior hockey team to play in the World Junior Championships.

He made his debut during the 1989-90 season with the Knoxville Cherokees of the East Coast Hockey League before switching for the Johnstown Chiefs the next season. With the exception of a three-game stint playing with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League in 1992, he spent all of the rest part of his career with Johnstown and then retired in the year 1995; He was the captain of the team, and was selected to the team’s 20th Anniversary team. When he announced his retirement in 1997, he had been the record-setting ECHL leading player in games played. The honor was added when he was named to the ECHL’s 10th Anniversary all-time Team in 1997.

After retiring as a player, Florio became an assistant coach for the Roanoke Express of the ECHL in 1998, and was named head coach and general manager in

2000. After making some controversial and unsuccessful trades, he was fired in January 2003 with the team just out of first place, a move unpopular with the players. He was promptly hired as interim head coach for the Anchorage Aces, with whom he finished the season, before going on to be the head coach for the Pee Dee Pride in the 2004 and 2005 seasons. He also was the head coach of the Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League in 2006.
