Levokari began his career with Assat the team from his hometown which he played for from 1996 until 2001. He later made the move to Jokerit and later HIFK where he recorded career record-setting stats of the three goal and five assist to earn eight points in only 21 games.

He was selected 257th overall for the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and signed as a player with the club. He played in six games for The AHL’s Chicago Wolves and six games in the ECHL for the Greenville Grrrowl before being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets with fellow Finn Tomi Kallio to another Finn Petteri Nummelin as well as Chris Nielsen. He played the remainder of 2002/03 playing for Syracuse Crunch. Syracuse Crunch, playing 45 games and scoring six assists to score 10 points, which was the most efficient he has ever been. He continued to participate for Syracuse until the trade was re-arranged and was then traded into the Pittsburgh Penguins for fellow minor- league player Brendan Buckley. He finished the season with the Wilkes- Barre/Scranton Penguins and had a short playoff run with the team before returning to Finland.
