In 43 games in the bullpen, which included the two clubs, Sewald went 5-1 and had an 1.92 ERA. Following the regular season, He was a part of the Arizona Fall League. The 2015 season was spent with Binghamton where pitching to a 3-0 mark and 1.75 ERA in 44 games and in the 2016 season as a Las Vegas team of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League where the team was 5-3 and an 3.29 ERA in a career record-setting 65.2 hours pitched. In 2015, Sewald pitched in his United States national team during the 2015 Pan American Games. Sewald started 2017 by playing for Las Vegas.
Almost 3 seasons after his debut, Sewald earned his first Major League win on September 24, 2019, as the winning pitcher in a walk-off win against the Miami Marlins.

Paul Stanton Sewald (born May 26 in 1990) is an American professional baseball player who plays with the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). Sewald was a student at his time at the University of San Diego played baseball in the college league for The San Diego Toreros. Sewald made his debut in the major leagues in the year 2017.
Sewald was a pupil at Sewald attended Bishop Gorman High School, which is located in Summerlin, Nevada. In 2008 his senior year Sewald went 7-0, with an 1.57 ERA, earning All-State recognition. In high school, he was not selected at the time of the 2009 MLB selection, the player was enrolled and played in the college league as a member of San Diego Toreros. He made his debut the same day against the Miami Marlins at Citi Field and surrendered two runs in a third of an inning. He was optioned back to Las Vegas on April 13 and recalled again on May 1. After his May 1 recall, he spent the remainder of 2017 with the Mets. In 57 relief appearances for New York, he was 0-6 with a 4.55 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. He was designated for assignment on May 26, 2019. On August 16, the Mets selected Sewald’s contract.
