In the New South Wales Rugby League season 1988, Dunn was awarded the Clive Churchill Medal for his prop performance as the man-of-the-match in the Grand Final winner Canterbury team. Dunn also was a part of Penrith Panthers. Penrith Panthers, winning another premiership in the NSWRL the season of 1991. After the grand final win, Dunn travelled along with Penrith Panthers to England to participate in an event called the World Club Challenge which was defeated by Wigan. He also was a player in Sydney Roosters and the Sydney Roosters and Parramatta Eels clubs.

Dunn was also a part of the City 1sts team in 1985 and 86 as well as the City Origin team in the years 87 and 90. as he was playing his final season of junior football with Bondi United, a Sydney-based club based in Sydney. Dunn also played for the Country Origin sides of 1988, 89 and 91 as a result of his roots in the country. Dunn was fortunate not to have played at least Origin than just one match in the year 1988., and two games in 1989, as Dunn was in the same time period as forwards such as Steve “Blocker” Roach David “Cement” Gillespie, Paul ‘Chief’ Harrigan, Paul ‘Siro’ Sironen, and John Cartright.

Paul Dunn (born 7 August 1963) is an Australian former professional footballer who played during the 1990s and 1980s. A New South Wales State of Origin and Australian international representative forward, he played club football in Sydney for Eastern Suburbs, Canterbury-Bankstown, Parramatta and Penrith.

In 1983, Dunn began his 1st Grade career as a player in the NSWRL premiership, playing for the Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs club, where Dunn played for two seasons before joining the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, his most successful club , in which Dunn played in 100 games over five years. After the year 1986 NSWRL year, Dunn was to his tour of 1986 Kangaroo trip to Great Britain and France. A major staff and player shift at Canterbury led to a move towards The Penrith Panthers where Dunn spent two years before moving back to Parramatta Eels his most unsuccessful club, where he resigned at the end of the 1995 season before returning for a year with his former club, the recently rebranded Sydney City Roosters.

In 2000 he was awarded the Australian Sports Medal for his contribution to Australia’s international standing in rugby league. Appointed the Chief Executive of the re-instituted South Sydney Rabbitohs, Dunn departed after the club’s disappointing return season of 2002 due to unrest in the club. In 2008, Dunn was appointed to the board of the Cantebury-Bankstown Bulldogs Football club. In the following year the ‘Boys from Belmore’ made it to the preliminary finals and only missed out on the Minor Premiership because of a controversial Video Referee decision and being stripped of 2 points for an interchange mixup, and then in 2010 was made Deputy Chairman of the club.
