Paul Daniel is one of the most popular and richest Conductor who was born on July 5, 1958 in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. Paul Daniel CBE (born 5 July 1958) is a famous English conductor from England.
He was appointed music director of English National Opera in September 1997. He experienced some issues during his first few months at ENO and was forced to leave the organization following the resignation of Dennis Marks as ENO’s general director just a month following Daniel’s arrival. This led Daniel to take on an increasingly public role as the artistic director of the company, up to the appointment to replace Nicholas Payne as general director. One interpretation of the situation was that the additional task was preventing Daniel from building a better connection between the orchestra. The orchestra was in turmoil when, on December 3, 2003 Daniel declared his departure from ENO at the conclusion the term of his employment in the year 2005. Furthermore, in the latter part of his period the media reported a rift among Daniel with ENO the artistic director Sean Doran. Daniel expressed his concerns over what the future holds for ENO in an interview in April 2005 with The Guardian, which led to ENO’s Director of Marketing Ian McKay, booing Daniel during his final show during his tenure as ENO the music director. His activities as music director at ENO was a part of the first world-premiere performance Mark Anthony Turner’s The Silver Tassie, which ENO as well as Daniel recorded for commercial release.
Daniel became principal guest conductor of the Real Filharmonía de Galicia (Santiago de Compostela) in 2007. In January 2012, he was named the orchestra’s next principal conductor and artistic adviser, as of January 2013, with an initial contract of 3 years. In July 2012, the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine (ONBA) announced the appointment of Daniel as its next music director, effective with the 2013–2014 season. He had previously guest- conducted the ONBA in 2006 and 2011. In May 2017, the ONBA announced the extension of Daniel’s contract through 2021.
Daniel has two daughters from his past marriage to opera singer Joan Rodgers. The marriage ended in divorce; Rodgers married Alan Samson in 2013. Daniel’s commercial recordings, which include performances with Rodgers, are featured on a number of record labels, including Chandos, Naxos, Linn, and Aeon.
Daniel first conducted his first orchestra, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) in 1995. He returned in April of 2006. Then, in May of 2007, Daniel was appointed the WASO’s new principal conductor starting in January 2009, and with an initial contract that ran until December 2011. In November of 2010 the WASO announced an renewal of his contract to principal conductor until December 2013, when he was able to conclude his WASO period.
