Patrick Pizzella (born May 19 1954) is an American government official who has been the United States Deputy Secretary of Labor since April 17th, 2018. He was previously a part of the Federal Labor Relations Authority appointed by President Barack Obama. He was employed in various agencies in the previous four Administrations. In 2019, following his resignation from Alexander Acosta, Pizzella served as interim United States Secretary of Labor for a period of more than two months.

Pizzella worked as a field staffer in Ronald Reagan’s campaign for the Republican nomination for president. Pizzella after which he served for four years from 1977 until 1980, as the executive director of the right-to-work commissions located that were located in New Mexico and Delaware.

In 1989, Pizzella was recruited by HUD Director Jack F. Kemp to serve at the new Federal Housing Finance Board (FHFB), created as part of the 1989 savings- and-loan bailout legislation, to oversee the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks and channel some of their profits (as much as $100 million in 1992) into housing programs. Pizzella served first as a consultant, then for five years (1990–95) as the FHFB’s Director of the Office of Administration, the last two years while Bill Clinton was President).
