Salvatore Scibona (born 2 June 1975) is an American writer of short stories and novels. He has been awarded for his novels as well as short stories. He was named in 2010 to be among The New Yorker “Fiction Writers to Watch: 20 under 40”.
Scibona completed his studies at St. John’s College in 1997. He published an article about his time at St. John’s at The New Yorker. Scibona obtained an M.F.A. in 1999 from The Iowa Writer’s Workshop at the University of Iowa. In the following year, he was granted in 1999 a Fulbright Fellowship, using it to travel to Italy to conduct research on the first novel he wrote, which was which was published under the title The End (2009).
His work in both forms has been recognized by major awards, in addition to earning recognition as an emerging writer and fellowships. He was named one of “20 under 40” notable authors by The New Yorker in 2010.
