Kang Ching-jung (Chinese: Kang Jin Rong ; pinyin: Kang Jinrong ), or commonly known as Kang Kang (Chinese: Kang Kang ; pinyin: Kang Kang ), is a Taiwanese entertainer, singer and television host. Kang was first noticed by Chang Fei at an appearance on a television show. Before he entered Taiwanese show business, Kang had switched many jobs. He started out as an officer in the military (MP) as well as a salesman before becoming a pub singer for a long time. He participated in a singing contest in 1997, and took the first prize with his band. The group released their first EP that same year.
The year 2005 was the time that Kang came out with his 5th album Who Gives A Damn About Your Mother’s Wedding (Guan Ni Ma Ma Jing Gei Shui ). It was a failure both in commercial sales as well as the critical acclaim. In the same year Kang was at the bottom of his television career when the show was canceled. Even though he received the highest number of TV shows in that same season, Kang’s fame decreased due to negative tabloid coverage. The critics often described him as “egotistically self-minded, a language abuser, and arrogant as a mule”. Even more troubling is the fact that he was frequently seen in bars as well as other establishments that cater to the adult paparazzi. Kang was also targeted by the media for being an alleged playboy, frequently praising his sexual prowess as well as remarks when he was in public. Kang was quick to respond with the statement that his actions were only to benefit the stage.

The year 2001 saw Kang dropped his third record, Dream Come True (Yuan Meng ) which was a moderate success. After that came the live album from 2002 called Kang Kang’s Special (Kang Kang’s Special Kang Shi Bei Xiu ).

Kang Kang is one of the richest Singer from Taiwan. According to our analysis, Wikipedia, Forbes & Business Insider, Kang Kang 's net worth $5 Million. (Last Update: December 11, 2023)
It wasn’t till 1998 when Kang started his journey into entertainment. Chang Fei was awestruck by Kang for his brilliant and quick-witted performance in his popular show Dragon Brother, Tiger Brother and agreed to become a mentor Kang. Kang then met and started working alongside Jacky Wu.
Kang released his debut album Tears Inducing (Cui Lei ) in June 1999. It was a moderate success, thanks to the solitary musical direction and his humble low- range vocals. However, his songwriting abilities were obscured by his unpopular television image for a stand-up comedian that employed imperfecation, foul language and slapstick humor in order to win over the hearts of the viewers. The public was prone to focus at his screen presence as if a singer has to be fashionable and Kang was not able to bring out the best that a good singer has. The reason wasn’t a absence of media exposure or coverage on TV but rather due to his public image. Some critics had described him as “ugly looking and badly dressed, with a tumbling voice that can’t speak with proper volume and speed”. Kang has since been trying in order to enhance his vocal and speed, and his effort finally paid off. The popularity of Kang grew because he got more TV exposure thanks to the backing of his boss Jacky Wu, as they appeared in a variety of classic TV shows like “TV Citizen”, “Electric Playground” and “Let’s Handcuff Him”.
In the spring of 2006, Kang Kang reinvented his long-term negative image by losing some weight and concentrating on his own TV shows. In addition, he was romantically involved with his fellow TV assistant. Kang Kang married in 2011 and is now a father of one child. He has toured with Frankie Kao and Jacky Wu as “The Three Hard Tenors”.
