Pat Ferschweiler (born February 20 1970) is an American hockey coach and an ex-player. The coach is now an assistant with the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Ferschweiler returned to WMU in the year 2010, working as an assistant to the new WMU Head Coach Jeff Blashill. The Broncos had their best season since their inception, which led to an appearance at 2011, the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament. Following the 2010-11 season, Blashill left WMU to accept an assistant coaching job for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League. Ferschweiler was among the applicants who were had an interview for the head coach post at WMU which was eventually awarded to the former NHL director of hockey Andy Murray. Ferschweiler continued to be in the Broncos team as an assistant for Murray for the following three seasons. Before the 2013-14 season when he was promoted to head coach associate.

On June 23, 2015, Ferschweiler, Tony Granato, Chris Chelios, and Dave Noel- Bernier were named assistant coaches for the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL. The move once again reunited him with Blashill, who had been named the Red Wings head coach on June 9. Ferschweiler had earlier been mentioned in news reports as a candidate for the Griffins head coaching job, which ultimately went to Todd Nelson.

In the year 2004, Ferschweiler took on the job as head coach and general manager for the Russell Stover Under-18 team in the Midwest Elite Hockey League. He also served as head of the hockey department of the Kansas City Stars youth organization between 2005 and 2009.

Ferschweiler played in junior hockey with his home town Rochester Mustangs of the USHL in the years 1988-1990. Then, he received a scholarship at Western Michigan University where he played in the NCAA hockey tournament from 1990 to 1993. Ferschweiler received the award of Central Collegiate Hockey Association’s Best Defensive Forward in his 1991-92 campaign. The following season, he embarked on an eight-year professional career after his stint at WMU and the majority of it playing in the International Hockey League.
