Pascal Chimbonda is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on February 21, 1979 in Les Abymes, France. Pascal Chimbonda (born 21 February 1979) is a French professional footballer, who plays as a defensive player at Ashton Town.
After signing with Wigan Athletic, Chimbonda was one of the top players in the Latics in their first season within the Premier League. He played 44 games for the club across all competitions and played in every game, with the exception of one during the 2005-06 Premier League season. Chimbonda scored two goals in the game at the Club, each during the 2005-06 campaign, both in league matches that were played with Fulham as well as Portsmouth. After a massively successful start to his year with the club in English soccer, Chimbonda got a spot as a member of the PFA Team of the Year in the 2005-06 campaign, having been selected as the most effective at right-back in the Premiership in front of Gary Neville, Steve Finnan and Paulo Ferreira. While at Wigan Chimbonda played at the time of the 2006 Football League Cup Final.
Despite early concerns that he would not make France’s 2006 World Cup squad, he was selected on the quality of his performances, despite having no previous international experience. During a World Cup warm-up friendly match, a 2–0 win against Denmark on 31 May 2006, he appeared amongst the substitutes, appearing briefly on the pitch in the final minutes of the game, replacing Willy Sagnol in the 87th minute for his debut. Chimbonda did not make an appearance during the 2006 World Cup, the cap against Denmark was his only appearance for the national side.
On 31 August 2006, Wigan Athletic accepted a bid from Tottenham Hotspur of £4.5 million, with the transfer being completed just before midnight. He made his Tottenham debut against Manchester United on 9 September 2006.
The year 2003 was the first time he participated in three times in 2003 for Guadeloupe during the Caribbean qualifying matches in preparation for 2003’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Chimbonda was born in Guadeloupe and raised in metropolitan France, Chimbonda began his professional career in 1998 at Le Havre, where he was a part of more than 100 games for the club’s first and B team prior to shifting into Bastia after 2003. The year 2005 saw him was transferred towards Premier League club Wigan Athletic for their first campaign in their top division. In Wigan the team’s outstanding performance brought him into the Premier League Team of the Year. However, on the final morning of 2005/06 season the player submitted an application for a transfer. He was later accepted to Tottenham Hotspur that summer. After two years with Spurs He later moved to a top-flight club Sunderland after which he briefly returned back to Spurs during 2009. The summer of 2009, he was signed by Blackburn Rovers which is where was his home until the year 2011 when was signed by Football Championship club Queens Park Rangers. In the 2011-12 season, Chimbonda was among many ex Premier League players who turned out for Doncaster Rovers but he went out of the club at the close in the year. After being unemployed throughout the year that followed Chimbonda slid six leagues lower to sign non-contracts for Market Drayton Town, remaining there for a short time before joining Carlisle.
Chimbonda was born in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe and started his career with Le Havre in France in 1999. He made his first appearance against Strasbourg on April 29th, 2000. He remained at the club up to the point that Le Havre were relegated to Ligue 2, when he moved to Bastia. While with Bastia, Chimbonda received racist abuse from his own supporters following a loss to Saint- Etienne. This could have led to his departure from the club. However the former players at Bastia were adamant about denying Chimbonda’s claims of racism.
After Bastia were relegated in July 2005, he left the club, turning down an offer from Marseille, and moved to Wigan Athletic for £500,000 on a three-year contract. He cited the fact that he was “ready for a new challenge and coming to Wigan is the perfect opportunity to test myself against the best players in the world” as the reason for selecting Wigan Athletic.

On 26 January 2009, Chimbonda underwent a medical at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of a proposed return to White Hart Lane and the deal was completed the following day. Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia declined to reveal the fee, although it is thought that Sunderland would recoup what they originally paid for Chimbonda, somewhere around the £3 million mark. His second Tottenham debut came in a 3–2 defeat against Bolton Wanderers on 31 January, where he set up Darren Bent to pull one back for Spurs, after coming on as a substitute.
