He is Msgr. Paolo Pezzi (Russian: Pavel Petstsi born August 8, 1960) FSCB – also known as Pavel Pezzi – is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church, currently serving as Latin Rite Metropolitan Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Moscow (Russian Federation).
On the 21st of September 2007 Fr. Pezzi was, at the time, rector of the main Seminary Mary the Queen of the Apostles in Saint Petersburg was named Metropolitan Archbishop for the Archdiocese of the Mother of God at Moscow by Pope Benedict XVI. He succeeded the Archbishop who was the first of the Archdiocese: Tadevush K. Kandrusievich. He was ordained at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Moscow on the 27th of October 2007, by the Archbishop Kandrusievich and He Msgr Antonio Mennini, Titular Archbishop of Ferentium and Apostolic Nuncio to Russian Federation, and HE Msgr Joseph Valueh SJ, The Bishop for the Diocese of Transfiguration in Novosibirsk.
In 2012 he was appointed member of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum.
