After a brief stint the leadership of Cultural missions to Morocco, Russia and India, Ganguli achieved recognition for his contribution to the creation of The Liberatum multimedia creative platform.
The Arts in Marrakech International Festival is a celebration featuring English and Arabic literature and art, was organized by Ganguli and was held in Morocco between 29 September and 3 October 2005. It began with Scottish Week Marrakesh, 21-28 September, also organized by Ganguli. The festival featured two art shows that included both in the field of Moroccan art and another featuring current British art, which was held under the direction the guidance of Vanessa Branson, sister of the tycoon Richard Branson; interviews; readings and panel discussions about Anglo-Arabic literature.
In August 2006 it was reported that the Ganguli and Scaddan had split, although remaining friends, and that Ganguli was living in Scaddan’s Edinburgh apartment. In 2007, it was reported that Ganguli was living in Wales. In 2009, The Times stated that Ganguli was based in London.
The Majestic Petra Festival was originally scheduled to be held in December 2006 in Petra, Jordan. Ganguli postponed the festival in October, citing ‘security concerns’. In mid-December 2006 it was reported that the festival’s location had changed to Dubai. It eventually did not take place.

in 2000 Ganguli had a meeting with Simon Scaddan at the time, who was British deputy High Commissioner for eastern India in a concert celebration at the French Consulate in Calcutta. After Scaddan became the British High Commissioner in Papua New Guinea in 2001, Ganguli moved into his diplomatic residence as his official partner and consort. The couple was made public in 2003.
The year 2001 was the time that Ganguli founded Connect UK which is an Papua New Guinea based organisation that was founded to build cultural connections among both the South Pacific and Britain. In November 2002 Connect UK and the British High Commission and Connect UK jointly organized the first British Week in the country, which was a celebration of British cultural, artistic design, education, technology and science’. The festival’s participants included Janet Street-Porter as well as Benjamin Zephaniah.
Beginning in 2005, Ganguli moved to the United Kingdom to make it his base. Around the same time, he started creating and directing cultural festivals in different parts of the world.
