Oscar Lee Sturgis (born January 12th 1971) is an ex- professional American football defensive end from the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins. He played for the college team in North Carolina’s University of North Carolina.

On the 4th of December in 1996, he was officially signed on December 4, 1996 to his team, the Green Bay Packers. The Packers released him five days after following his inactivity during one match.

In 1998, he signed with the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League, where he contributed to three consecutive semifinal appearances (1998-2000).

Sturgis signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League and was released before the start of the 1998 season.

On the 18th of December in 1996, he was drafted with the Miami Dolphins and was inactive for the final game in the league. He was assigned for the Frankfurt Galaxy of the World League of American Football in 1997. He recorded 2 sacks and 26 tackles. He was released on the 18th of August in 1997.

Sturgis was a student at Richmond County High School, where he was a part of the team that helped achieve two state championships for Class 4-A both in 1989 and 1988 with a perfect record of 30-0 in those two years. In his junior year Sturgis had 32 receptions, resulting in 673 yards and six touchdowns as a tight end.

The year was 1990. He was offered an athletic scholarship to play in the University of North Carolina, but was found to be academically not eligible. Instead of enrolling as an Proposition 48 student chose to go to Fork Union Military Academy until being eligible the following year. In his freshman year in the school, he was absent for the initial three games due to knee injuries, before returning to play the remaining nine games.

Sturgis was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round (236th overall) of the 1995 NFL Draft. He was de-activated for the first 13 contests of the season, until Charles Haley underwent back surgery. He was activated for the last 3 games of the season and saw his first professional game action in the fourth quarter against the Arizona Cardinals. He was again declared inactive during the playoffs and was a part of the team that won Super Bowl XXX. The next year he was moved to defensive tackle and was waived on August 25, 1996.
