Ann McKechin (born 22 April 1961) is an ex- British Labour Party politician and was a parliamentarian (MP) in 2001 until 2015. She was a member of Glasgow North in Glasgow North constituency from 2005 until her first term in parliament she was the member of parliament in Glasgow Maryhill.

Within the House of Commons, McKechin was briefly private secretary of the Parliamentary House for Jacqui Smith, in the year 2005. She was in her role in the position of Minister of State in as well as at the Department of Trade and Industry as well as the Department for Education and Skills. McKechin was also a member of several select committees, including Scottish Affairs (2001-05) and International Development (since 2005). She was replaced by David Cairns as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in Scotland Office on 16 September

Glasgow Maryhill constituency, following the departure of the previous Labour MP Maria Fyfe. McKechin retained the Maryhill seat by the majority of almost 10,000 votes. The boundary changes that took effect during the election of 2005 and McKechin’s Maryhill constituency was eliminated which meant that McKechin was elected to the newly drawn Glasgow North constituency, but with a significantly smaller majority of 3,338 against her fellow candidates, the Scottish Liberal Democrats.
