Olusoji Adetokunbo (born on July 9, 1984) is a Nigerian sprinter who is a specialist in 100 meters. He is currently the African record holder for the race with 9.85 seconds, making his the most speedy African ever.
In the beginning of 2006, he placed 5th at his first World Indoor Championships and second at the Commonwealth Games. He set an all-new African record by running 9.85 seconds at the Doha Grand Prix in May. He broke Frankie Fredericks’ old record of 9.86 s set in 1996. Fasuba’s race was impressive since he’s an inch shorter than other sprinters. He is believed to possess among the top speeds in athletics. Despite suffering from injuries throughout the season Fasuba was able to defend his regional title in the 2005 African Championships. For his accomplishments in 2006 in 2006, his team, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria chose Fasuba for the Nigerian Male Athlete of the Year.
Fasuba was entered into the 100 m at the 2009 World Championships, but his performance was modest and he was eliminated in the second round after running 10.25 seconds. After a poor start to 2010, he was not selected to defend his 60 m title at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships as Sunday Bada of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria stated he was not in form.
In April 2011 Olusoji joined the Royal Navy applying through the Royal Navy Careers Office in Oxford, and embarked on a career as Logistician (Supply Chain) Rating. He hopes to continue with athletics as a hobby and compete for the Royal Navy. He stated that the reason behind this was that he was looking for a more settled life for his family. He was a part of the Nigerian bronze medal-winning team for the 4x 100m relay during the 2004 Olympic Games. In the same year, he also took home the African Championships on 100 metres. He was awarded an Olympic silver medal during the 2006 Commonwealth Games behind Asafa Powell and was also the world indoor champion of 60 meters in 2008, making him the only African to achieve this feat.

Fasuba has been born the second child to Olumide and Evelyn Fasuba who have an older sibling (Kayode) and an older sibling (Yinka). He was introduced to Ngozi Nwokocha, a 400 meters runner, at his first national Training camp back in 2003. they have since married. have one daughter.
Fasuba experienced his breakthrough year in 2003. His breakthrough year began with the national trials of 2003. He was picked as part of the 4-x 100m relay team at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics and was fourth on the Nigerian team. Fasuba ended the year by winning in the 100-meter race at the first Afro-Asian Games. In 2004 he went on to take the win at the 2004 African Championships in Athletics and then took home his first major gold medal within a couple of months – the Olympic bronze medal in the form of the 4x100m relay team in the 2004 Athens Olympics. In the following year, he participated in the 200 and 100 meters in the World Championships, but failed to get to the final.
He won two gold medals at the 2007 All-Africa Games, winning in the 100 m and 4×100 m relay. However, the occasion was marred by calls for him to be banned from the Nigerian team following a misunderstanding: Fasuba had planned to celebrate with the Nigerian flag but he had to abandon the celebration after he was called to take a drugs test. On 26 August 2007, he finished fourth in the 100 m at the 2007 World Championships with 10.07 s. Fasuba won the World Indoor Championships 60 m sprint on 8 March 2008 in a time of 6.51 s. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing he competed at the 100 m and placed second in his heat after Tyson Gay in a time of 10.29 s. He qualified for the second round in which he improved his time to 10.21 seconds. However, he was unable to qualify for the semi-finals as he finished in fourth place after Richard Thompson, Gay and Martial Mbandjock.
