Oliver “Ollie” Horgan (born 17 February 1968) is an Irish football manager who is head of Finn Harps in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Horgan has also previously managed Fanad United and the Republic of Ireland national schoolboy football team.

The 2015 season was much more profitable in the Horgan’s Harps. An impressive beginning to the 2015 season saw the team win without a loss during the first 12 games of the season. However, it only ending with an 1-0 loss against Athlone Town on June 5. But, Harps recovered from this and progressed to the final play-off of the season which they defeated UCD in two sets in their First Division play-off to set for a play-off finale match against Limerick which finished 11th position within the League of Ireland Premier Division. Harps were able to come from a goal back in the first match in Markets Field to win in stunning manner in the second leg at Finn Park via a last minute BJ Banda winner, the club putting Horgan into Harps history as a legend, going to First Division also-rans to Premier Division team with one of the most modest budgets in the club’s history in only two seasons.

Despite a promising start to the 2017 season, with wins over St Patrick’s Athletic twice, Limerick, Bohemians, and a derby game in Maginn Park over Derry City, Harps late season run of form ended with a disappointing relegation back to the First Division for 2018 alongside Galway United and Drogheda United as the Football Association of Ireland changed structures again, relegating three teams from twelve to create two ten team divisions within the League of Ireland.

The 2018 season saw Finn Harps finish in second place, and beat Drogheda United to qualify for the promotion/relegation playoff. Limerick were again the opposition, and again Harps secured promotion to the Premier Division, winning both legs of the playoff and holding Limerick scoreless.

On the 26th of November, 2013 Horgan was appointed the unexpected succeeding manager of Peter Hutton as Finn Harps new manager for the 2014 season. The appointment was a shocker to the sports public in Donegal and other high- profile candidates like Joe Boyle, Don O’Riordan and Julian Dicks all confirmed to be interested in the position.

In his debut season as manager of the League of Ireland manager, Horgan focused on consolidating and ensuring Harps would continue to build on their young squad. Despite a strong beginning to the season, Harps finished the season disappointingly in fifth place with a total of 17 points from an automatic play-off spot. Despite their lack of results in the league, Horgan was able to lead Harps to their debut FAI Cup semi-final appearance since the disastrous run through finals in the 1999 FAI Cup Final. Harps were dragged away by St Patrick’s Athletic in Richmond Park But, the game was not as expected and the underdogs Harps lost a hefty 6-1 loss to their opponents before cameras from the RTE cameras.

Horgan began his managerial career at Fanad United in the Ulster Senior League which he led to three championships. Fanad joined an under-19 team during the 2011 season and Horgan took over the team until his resignation from the club in order in 2013 to become a part of Finn Harps in 2013.

In October 2016, Finn Harps extended Horgan’s contract as senior team manager until the end of the 2017.
