On the 18th of March, 2014 Clarke was granted a second two-year extension to his contract for the Pirates. He played for one season with Rovers within the Conference and was promoted through the playoffs. He scored four goals in this season of success.

He finally was able to make his debut with Bristol Rovers in their final game of the season 2010-11 and was substituted in the 88th minute as a substitute for Harry Pell against Colchester United at the Colchester Community Stadium. The hopes of being able to play for the first team following the summer break of 2011 were shattered when he was injured and suffered a rupture in his anterior cruciate ligament the day he returned in training, which left him out of action for a few months while recovering after reconstructive surgeries. The first goal he scored for Rovers was scored against Portsmouth on the 21st December of 2013. It was scored off the edge of the box, scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 victory.

After making it throughout an Bristol Rovers youth system, Clarke made the move to professional football in The Pirates in 2009, together with fellow youth team graduates Eliot Richards, Neikell Plummer, Dan Cayford, Mark Cooper, George Booth, Steve Kingdon and Jack McKenna. In this group, there was only Clarke and Richards had made any appearances as a senior player.

During the same month he hit a purple patch scoring 2 goals in 3 games in a vital 2–0 victory away to Oxford United and a 2–1 victory at home to Chesterfield during which he scored just 30 seconds into the match.
