After the expiration of his entry-level deal for Blue Jackets, at the conclusion of his entry-level contract with Blue Jackets, Yevenko was not offered a contract as a restricted free-agent on June 26th the 26th of June, 2017. Being a free agent, Yevenko opted to continue playing in the AHL and then return to the Calgary Flames organization by signing an one-year contract in the Stockton Heat and agreeing to be invited to an Flames practice camp. On September 19, 2017, Yevenko was reassigned by the Flames to the Heat. The 2017-18 season saw Yevenko was restricted to 23 games of depth on the Heat’s blueline. He contributed with three assists.
On the 29th of June, the 29th of June, 2015 Yevenko was signed to a single- year AHL deal to the Lake Erie Monsters, an affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets. After being invited for the Blue Jackets training camp for 2015, Yevenko impressed the club to sign a one-year two-way NHL contract on October 1, 2015.

Oleg was a player for two years in The Fargo Force of the USHL and was a well- known hockey player who was known for his defensive game hard hits and fighting abilities. Yevenko played in the collegiate league with his team, the UMass Minutemen. After finishing his Senior year at UMass and signing an Amateur Tryout for the Adirondack Flames of the AHL to close out his 2014-15 campaign. Yevenko scored no points in his four games for the Flames.
As a free agent Yevenko ended his North American career in signing a one-year deal with hometown club, HC Dinamo Minsk of the KHL on May 2, 2018.
