Odair also played in two matches out of the country: in 2003, he played three times for the Swedish team Enkopings SK, and represented Hong Kong First Division League club Eastern SC in the 2007-08 season. The month of January, 2009, was when he was part of those on the Brasil de Pelotas squad which was involved in an accident when the bus that was carrying the team plunged 130 feet into the ravine. He sustained minor back injuries due to the incident. He completely recovered from in October of the year. However, he chose to retire.
