Kenjige is a native of Auburn, Alabama, where his father was employed as an agricultural researcher for Tuskegee University. His family relocated back to India prior to the age of one. He moved and then to Chikkamagaluru District, which is located outside Bengaluru in India, where his father operates an agricultural farm for coffee. Kenjige played university cricket in Bengaluru. In November 2019, he was named in the United States’ squad for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament.
