After two years in the United States, Noonie Bao returned to her home town of Stockholm where she signed an agreement with the label EMI as writer. She also established a label for music called 2many Freckles. In the label, she composed and recorded songs that were recorded by Adiam Dymott Clean Bandit, Frederic Sioen and Tove Styrke. Bao recorded several songs on Tove Styrke’s self-titled album from 2010 that lasted for more than 35 weeks at the top of the Swedish charts, and peaked at the 10th spot. In 2011 the Belgian group Das Pop became aware of the song of Noonie Bao. They requested her to sing in the backing vocals of “Fair Weather Friends” from their album The Game. Bao then went on tour with Das Pop in Belgium as well as Europe.
On January 12, 2012 Bao came out with her debut track “About to Tell”. In October Bao released her first album, I Am Noonie Bao, which fuses indie pop with folk styles. In the second half of 2012, she embarked on a tours in Sweden. In 2013 she was nominated to win an Grammis prize in the category Best New Artist but she was defeated by Icona Pop. Bao then had success as a songwriter , and a featured singer in Avicii as well as Nicky Romero’s hit song “I Could Be the One”.
