On May 2, 2017, Elgo was named as a judge on be a judge on the Connecticut Appellate Court by Dan Malloy. Dan Malloy’s General Assembly confirmed her appointment on May 25, 2017. After her confirmation it marked that it was the first occasion in court’s history that women were in the majority. She was only the second Asian Pacific American judge appointed to the Connecticut Appellate Court.
She was honoured by an award called the Native Daughter of Norwich Award In the year 2014, she received named the winner of the CT Asian Pacific American Bar Association Impact Award as well as In 2013, she became named the winner of the Edwin Archer Randolph Diversity Award. In her role as one of the very initial Asian Pacific American judge in Connecticut she was honored at the end of 2006 by the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association Women’s Caucus as an “Trailblazer in the Connecticut Judiciary.” She was also the recipient of in 2007 the Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section Diversity Award.
