Niko Hansen is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on September 14, 1994 in Randers, Central Denmark Region, Denmark. Nikolaj Hansen (born 14 September 1994) is a Danish footballer who plays forward or winger with Major League Soccer club Houston Dynamo. He played at the semi-professional level with Seattle Sounders FC U-23 and professionally with Columbus Crew SC.

As a child, Hansen moved to the United States and attended Jesuit High School. He was a college player at New Mexico, appearing on an all-conference team during every year playing for the Lobos and claiming two conference championships. He also played with Seattle Sounders FC U-23 during the offseason of collegiate football. Hansen was chosen as a player by Columbus Crew SC in the first round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft; he scored during his first professional appearance in the month of March in 2017. Hansen is qualified to play for or both the Denmark and/or United States national teams and is citizens of both countries.

Hansen was expected to challenge for a starting spot at the beginning of the 2018 season following the departure of Justin Meram, but suffered a pulled hamstring during preseason camp. He found his form in the later part of the year, scoring a match-tying goal against Chicago Fire on 23 August and bagging a brace in a 3–2 defeat against Portland on 19 September. For a second consecutive season, Hansen scored in a knockout round penalty shootout, this time helping Columbus advance over D.C. United by a 3–2 result. However, he missed the conference semifinals against New York Red Bulls after picking up an ankle injury against D.C. After appearing 24 times and scoring three goals, Hansen again had his contract option picked up by the club.

On 8 August 2019, Hansen was traded to Houston Dynamo in exchange for $75,000 in targeted allocation money. He made his debut for the Dynamo three days later, entering as a substitute in a 2–1 defeat against Philadelphia Union, and went on to make four appearances during his first season in Houston. Following the campaign, the Dynamo picked up the option on Hansen’s contract.

Columbus Crew SC selected Hansen as the ninth overall pick at the time of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. Since he already had an official league-guaranteed contract prior to selection, Hansen could be added immediately on the Columbus roster, without needing to negotiate a contract to the team. Hansen made his club debut and professional debut on March 25 with Portland Timbers, replacing Justin Meram in the 60th minute of an 0-0 match. Hansen would later give Crew SC with a 3-2 victory with the winning goal in the 84th minute. Hansen had to miss 14 games over the summer, following surgery to treat an inguinal hernia, and being injured in the thigh upon returning to the training. Hansen returned just on time to take part in Columbus’ playoffs in which he was an extra replacement in the knockout game in the match against Atlanta United. Hansen made a score in the shootout, as Crew SC advanced by a 3-1 score. After scoring just one goal in 16 games, Hansen had his contract option taken over by the club.
