Nihalchand is one of the most popular and richest Indian Politician who was born on February 4, 1971 in Sri Ganganagar, India. Nihal Chand (born 4 February 1971) is an Indian politician who is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected a member of the Parliament four times in his Ganganagar constituency. He is also popularly known as Nihalchand Chauhan, and Nihalchand Meghwal.

In 2011 Nihal Chand’s identity was revealed as one of the 17 suspects in a FIR filed by the police. The victim, a woman who was from Sirsa, Haryana, alleged that her husband Om Prakash Godara drank her, and then allowed his associates rape her at Jaipur. After a year of investigations and investigation, the police decided to close the investigation in 2012 and declared the accusations as untrue and false. The woman then approached the court of trial, who accepted the police report, and dismissed the protest petition submitted by her. The woman then went to the court of district, who also dismissed the case. In 2014, just a few weeks from the day Nihal Chand was made the minister, the complainant came in for a revision, after which the court of district issued notifications for Nihal Chand and 16 others informing them of their obligation to respond in writing to the judge. The matter caused controversy that led to opposition party Congress calling for the resignation of Nihal Chand. BJP did not agree by pointing out that Nihalchand received the “clean chit” in the case while Congress was ruling in Rajasthan.

Then, Nihal Chand won the general elections in 1999 and 2004 from Ganganagar as an BJP candidate. The year 2008 was the time he was defeated in elections to the Assembly races to Daulat Raj of the Congress who was from Raisinghnagar by 5042 votes. Then, in 2009, he was defeated in the general election against Bharat Ram Meghwal from Congress. He won the 2014 elections when he beat Bhanwarlal Meghwal from the Congress in identical seats. He was a Minister of State (MOS) within the Cabinet that was headed by Prime Secretary Narendra Modi from May 2014 until July 2016.
