Nicholas Scott “Nicky” Reid (born 30 October 1960 in Davyhulme) is an English former football player and defensive. He played in both full and centre back in his playing career.
Reid was signed by Sligo Rovers as an athlete in 1997. He later was appointed manager after Jimmy Mullen left in July 1997. In the first season, he led the club on their longest streak of unbeaten play and led them to their first FAI League Cup in February 1998, defeating Shelbourne with two legs during the championship final (Reid played as captain of the team). The second season did not get off to a good start, and the club escaped the relegation process on the final day due to a 2-0 win over Derry City. Reid was removed from his contract and returned to England. He was enrolled in part-time a degree in Sports Rehabilitation at Salford’s University of Salford.
He completed a second degree at the University of Salford in 2008, this time in Physiotherapy.
Reid was a part of West Bromwich Albion for the 1992-93 season, helping the club to be promoted to Division Two; he was in the scoring column during the time Albion defeated Port Vale 3-0 in the playoff final at Wembley Stadium, his only goal for Albion during.

Reid was a regular player for 217 games with Manchester City F.C. and scored two goals in two stints with Manchester City F.C. between 1977 as well as 1982 and 1987 prior to his transfer in 1987 to Blackburn Rovers F.C. during July of 1987.
