He played the majority his college basketball career with the Georgia State Panthers after transferring from USC.
As an undergraduate in Georgia State in 2014-15, Washington was awarded All- Sun Belt Preseason Third-Team honors. In the course of the season Washington recorded an average of 5.2 per game and 4.2 Rebounds per game shooting 56.0 per cent from floor, as well as 77.8 percentage from the free-throw line. The guard blocked 44 of his shots and was placed as No. 142 in the country and had an 1.3 BPG average. He was No. 4 , in the Sun Belt and 179th in the nation.
In December 2015, Washington joined the London Lightning of the Canadian NBL for the 2015–16 season. The Lightning was surprised by how good Washington was during camp and he was surprised by the calibre of the talent in the NBL. He appeared in eight games for the Lightning before parting ways with the team in late January 2016; he averaged 5.1 points and 2.0 rebounds during his stint.
On October 31, 2015, Washington joined the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League for training camp. He made the Red Claws’ opening-night roster, but he was deactivated by the team on November 11, 2015 prior to their season opener. Six days later, he was waived by the Red Claws before appearing in a game for them.
Washington was born in Chesapeake, Virginia. He resided in Guam from the age of 12 until 16 when the father of his was captain of the Navy and was stationed in Guam. After being a student at Guam High School in 9th and 10th grade, Washington returned to the United States for his final years in high school. As an incoming senior student at Elizabethtown High School in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, he averaged 8 points and four rebound per game. In in his final season, he was a McDonald’s All-American selection. As an Elizabethtown senior Elizabethtown the school, he was forced to miss a number of games due to an ankle injury, but he averaged eight points as well as 7.6 rebounding in the eight games.
