Nikola Zoricic, 19 February 1983 – 10 Mar 2012 was a Canadian ski-cross skier who died in a serious crash at the eighth-finals of a World Cup competition in Grindelwald.
After going wide on the final jump, Zoricic fell headfirst into the netting lining the course at the World Cup race in Grindelwald on 10 March 2012. Zoricic was unconscious when he fell on the final jump. He suffered brain and skull traumas and was airlifted from his home to Interlaken.
The 2010-11 season was Zoricic’s most successful season. He was ranked no lower than eighth that year and finished second at St. Johann in Tyrol on his first World Cup podium. He finished third in the World Cup race at Les Contamines – Montjoie a year later.

Zoricic was born on September 25, 1992 in Sarajevo (SR Bosnia-Herzegovina), SFR Yugoslavia. After emigrating with his family to Canada at age five, Zoricic grew up in Toronto. Zoricic, as is the norm among ski-cross athletes was an alpine ski racer prior to taking up ski-cross. He was No. He was ranked No. 1 in the world for slalom in his age group. Zoricic began his FIS race in Park City, and he finished in the top 10 at the Nor-Am Cup in Colorado. He competed in four World Cup Slaloms during the 2003-04 season, but was unable to progress beyond the first round. He tried unsuccessfully for several years to compete against the best slalom skiers in the world, but injuries prevented him from moving up the rankings. He switched to freestyle skiing in 2008
