As a sophomore (2003-04), All-America Second Team selection. 2004 Patty Kazmaier Award top-10 finalist. First Team All-WCHA selection. Had a WCHA-best of 28 power-play point (10-18)… Three-time WCHA Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Named to WCHA All-Tournament Team.

Darwitz started skating when she was five years old. She attended Eagan High School and was a veteran of ten year on the US National Team. Darwitz competed in two Olympics. She was the Olympic goal scorer for 2002 and she also scored the game-winning assist in 2006’s bronze-medal match. She won back-to-back NCAA Hockey championships at her alma mater Minnesota. With 1:08 left against Harvard, she scored the championship goal (4-3). She was also named Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Championship Frozen 4.
