Najaf Shah is one of the most popular and richest Cricketer who was born on December 17, 1984 in Gujar Khan, Punjab, Pakistan. Syed Najaf Hussain Shah, a Pakistani international cricketer, was born 17 December 1984 in Gujar Khan (Rawalpindi). He currently plays for Rawalpindi and Pakistan International Airlines as well as various franchise leagues. In 2007, he played his first One Day International match against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi (UAE). He is a left-arm medium-fast-bowler with the ability to bat in the lower orders. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas USA.

He was also a great bowler in 2014/15 season. He was awarded Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s best bowler award. He took 42 wickets in 8 matches, with an average of 15.19 wickets.

In February 2003, PIA defeated Khan Research Laboratories cricket team to win the championship title. In the final match, Najaf took 5 wickets. In 2004/2005 ABN-AMRO trophy, PIA and HBL shared the championship title. Najaf was named best bowler in the tournament.

Najaf started his international career in ICC Under-17 Asia Cup. It was held in Pakistan during the 2000/2001 cricket season. After that, he played for Pakistan A and Pakistan U-19 for a few years. He was selected to represent Pakistan in a tri series tournament that involved Sri Lanka and Bangladash teams. He was able to present a strong case to national selectors as he took 9 wickets in four One-day matches of the tri series, and then 16 wickets against Bangla Dash in two four-day matches. The Pakistan Academy team won both matches.

Since 2001, Najaf Shah is playing First-class cricket for Pakistan. Although he has played for many teams, his main teams were Rawalpindi region cricket team and Pakistan International Airlines. His performances throughout the years have helped teams win major domestic championships.

Najaf belongs to Gujar Khan. He started his earlier career at school level with taped tennis ball, it is quite normal in this part of world to start with tape/tennis ball rather than full cricket gear. Through initial school competitions he was spotted to be high potential talent. After completion of school education he took admission in Sarwar Shaheed College in intermediate level. He was selected captain of college cricket team, under his captaincy college’s team won some major tournaments. In 2000-01 he moved to Rawalpindi from Gujar Khan for higher education. After moving to Rawalpindi he joined Gull Cricket Club and that was a turning point of his career and started cricket as a professional
