Darnell Mee is one of the most popular and richest American basketball player who was born on February 11, 1971 in Cleveland, Tennessee, United States. LaFarrell Darnell Mee (born on 11 February 1971) is an Australian-American NBA professional who was a player in the NBA and various leagues. He was chosen as a player by the Golden State Warriors with the 34th overall selection (2nd round) of the 1993 NBA Draft. He was granted Australian citizen in the latter part of 2006 following his move to in the NBL as an importer in the early 1990s.

In the course of the course of his NBL time in the league, Mee has been tagged as being the top defense player of the game. He won the Best Defensive Player in the NBL award in 1999 2001, 2000 and 2005. He was also named to the NBL’s first team in 2001 and in 2005. He also received selections in numerous NBL All-Star Games, including the 2005.

He was with the Cannons for a single year (1996) before joining Adelaide 36ers. He received help from the same lawyer who was in charge of Mee’s international career. They assisted the 36ers in winning in 1998 and the 1998-99 NBL championships. Mee continued to play for this team till the close of 2001. He then joined the Cairns Taipans for 2003 before shifting with the Wollongong Hawks for the 2004-05 NBL season. Then he went back to the Taipans which he played with until his retirement at the end of the 2008-09 season.

An 6’5″ (196 centimeters) player, Mee played college basketball at Western Kentucky University for three seasons from 1990 to 1993. He appeared in 91 games and scoring 13.8 per game, 5.2 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
