On 24 October 2013, he made his professional debut as a substitute for Fatjon Lajithia in an Albanian Cup fixture against Pogradeci. He was quickly a key player in the first team of the under-19s. However, he was again called up to play for the senior team in the return leg against Pogradeci. Uzuni began the game. He scored his first senior goal in just 2 minutes. Then, he added a 71st minute winner to give his team a 3-2 win. In the Albanian First Division, Uzuni made his league debut against Veleciku in a 1-0 away victory. He was substituted by Salvador Gjonaj at half-time. He made 11 league appearances, scoring one goal to help his team finish in 4th, and adding 2 goals to his 4 Albanian Cup games, increasing his total to 3 goals in 15 matches.

He was called up then in March 2015 for the opening 2017 UEFA U21 Championship qualifier against Liechtenstein on 28 March 2015. He was given the number 10 shirt for his international debut and he started in midfield. He played the full 90 minutes in the 2–0 away victory to get Albania off to a winning start thanks to the goals of Rey Manaj and Liridon Latifi.

Following some impressive performances in the Albanian Superliga with Apolonia, he received his first international call up by Albania under-21s head coach Skënder Gega in the squad from home league Albanian Superliga to participate in for a 3-days mini preparatory stage in Durrës, Albania from 22–25 February 2015.

Uzuni’s second goal of the season, the only goal in the match against Skenderbeu on December 10, was the result that ended the league’s undefeated streak. This was Laci’s first league victory over Skenderbeu since April 2015. In the 3-1 win over Lushnja, Laci scored his second top flight brace. He also hit the crossbar twice and had an offside goal disallowed. He is a fan of Roza Haxhiu Stadium and has been able to score 7 goals there with three different teams.

Uzuni was born and raised in Berat. He moved to Greece with his family when he was a child. There he lived for six years before returning to Berat in 2012. He joined Tomori’s local club and started playing for the club’s under-17 team. There, he was the top goal scorer in the First Division with 14 goals. He scored four times in his next 4 games. Then he joined the under-19 team for a tournament in Spain in September 2013. Tomori won the tournament, while Uzuni was the top goal scorer with seven goals. This led to Uzuni being called up by Madrid Muxhaj to join the senior team.

His performances throughout 2014 won him the Tomori Player of the Year award, which was given to the player shortly before he would go on to join top flight side Apolonia in the January transfer window of 2015.
