Iosefo Tony, born 29 May 1981, is an ex-international rugby league footballer from New Zealand who was a fullback during the 2000s and 2010. Before playing for the New Zealand Warriors, he was a NRL player for the Brisbane Broncos. He then played in Super League for Hull F.C.’s Castleford Tigers. He won the 2005 Challenge Cup with the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and was a finalist in the RFL Championship for Whitehaven.
He chose to represent Samoa in 2008 and was included in the Samoa training team for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup. However, he had to withdraw due to injury. Tony signed for a one-month trial with Nottingham Rugby, a Championship union side.
Tony started his career with Castleford, an English club. He joined Hull F.C. in 2005. Tony was fullback for Hull F.C. in 2005’s Challenge Cup Final. He scored a try against the Leeds Rhinos. He was part the New Zealand team that won the Gillette Tri-Nations 2005. They beat Australia in the final 24-0. Hull reached 2006 Super League Grand Final to face St Helens R.F.C. Tony was on Tony’s wing during his side’s 426-26 defeat. Before he crossed codes to play for National 2 North Rugby Union club Hull RUFC, he played in 109 Hull games. Tony signed for Whitehaven after the Rugby union season ended. Tony represented New Zealand’s national rugby league team 18 times from 2001 to 2006.

De La Salle College was where he played rugby league for the First XIII team. Before being signed by New Zealand Warriors, he played for the Marist Saints in Auckland Rugby League. He was a Marist-Richmond Brothers player in the 2000 Bartercard Cup, and toured Australia that year with the New Zealand Residents.
Tony made his professional debut with the New Zealand Warriors in 2001. He played 55 games for the club, including a five-eighth appearance in the Warriors’ 2002 NRL grand finale loss to the Sydney Roosters. He moved to Brisbane Broncos in 2004, but only played three games before he left to join the Super League.
On 28 October 2010, Super League club Wakefield Trinity announced the signing of Tony. On 12 June 2010, Tony made his début for Trinity at fullback in their 13–10 home victory over Huddersfield.
