Mohammed Salem Al-Enazi is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on November 22, 1976 in Doha, Qatar. Enazi was said to have been born in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and that rumours circulated that his family were Kuwaiti bidoons after the 1996 Gulf Cup of Nations. He refuted these claims and claimed that he was actually born in Qatar.

He was offered a trial at the German club Bayern Munich in October 1999. He was known as “the Sheikh” because he played in friendly tournaments for Bayern. Bayern Munich did not contact him after he returned from his trial in Qatar. During his trial, he would meet Sergio, his future Al Wahda partner.

Mohammed Salem Al Enazi (Arabic: محمد سالم العنزي ‎) is a retired Qatari football striker. He is the third top goal scorer for Qatar, having scored 33 goals. He won the top scorer award in the UAE Pro League in 2001 and 2002. He has been compared to Iran’s Ali Daei.

He suffered an injury in the 2002–03 season minutes after scoring a goal against Al Shabab on 12 December in a league match. He fell out of favor with the club’s board and supporters late in the season (scored 5 ligue goals), and he joined Al Jazira in 2004.

Enazi was the first Qatari professional footballer to play professionally in Europe, despite a failed trial at Bayern Munich in October 1999. After the Turkish league increased the foreign player quota to six players in 2000, Enazi signed a one-year contract with Yimpas Yozgatspor. Between August 2000 and September 2000, he played just 107 minutes in the league. He made his debut against Denizlispor on 19 August, and he was last seen against Caykur Rizkspor on 10 September.

His playing career began in Umm Salal’s youth team, where he was a goalkeeper. He moved to Al Rayyan at the age 13 For a spot in the starting lineup, he competed against Mansoor Muftah (the best Qatari striker ever). In 1996, he was the fourth-highest scorer in the world. After leaving Yimpaş, he joined Al Wahda in November 2000, becoming the first- ever Qatari footballer to play professional in the Emirati league. He was registered as one of the club’s two professionals, having replaced Congolese striker Jerry Tendeleu in the fifth stage of league matches for a transfer fee of $310,000. He made his debut against Al Jazira in a local derby match on 9 November, scoring his first goal 2 minutes into the match, and finishing off with a hat-trick. He helped his club win the league title and the FA Cup that season, and was dubbed the ‘Hat-trick man’ due to scoring hat-tricks in three successive matches. In the league, he scored 11 goals in his first eight matches, including 2 hat-tricks, against Al Jazira and Al Ahli. He was named the UAE Pro-League top scorer in 2001 with 22 goals scored in 17 matches Overall, he scored three hat-tricks, and one super hat-trick in the league.

He struggled to stay in the first team in the 2005–06 season after sustaining an injury in August which left him out of action for 4 months. The departure of head coach Sef Vergoossen in December resulted in Enazi seeing less playing time for the first team. As a result, he transferred to Al Wasl in 2006.
