Ferman was re-elected in 2011 and she began her second term as District attorney in January 2012. She is the daughter and son of Barbara Vetri and Sal Vetri.

Ferman was a Republican candidate for District Attorneys Seat against Democrat Peter C. Amuso Ferman won and received the highest voter count of any candidate in 2007. In November 2007, Ferman was elected as the first woman District Attorney in Montgomery County. She assumed office in January 2008.

Ferman supervises the Elder Abuse Task Force, a multifaceted force of law enforcement agencies as well as the county’s Aging and Adult Services. Ferman established the Elder Justice Roundtable in 2013 after further development with the Elder Abuse Unit and Taskforce.
