The Supreme Court of Spain’s Judge Pablo Llarena agreed to an inquiry on 22 December 2017 for rebellion against Mireia Boda (president of CUP’s parliamentary groups), Artur Mas, Marta Rovira [secretary general of ERC], Anna Gabriel (spokesperson of CUP), Marta Pascal (“general coordinator of CUP”), and Neus Lloveras (president of AMI), for their participation in the organization of the Catalan independence referendum which was held on October 2017. Boya was released on 14 February 2018 and declared under investigation.

In February 2018, she was elected a member of the CUP National Secretariat as an independent candidate with 662 votes.

However, Ramon Usall (the CUP’s number one) resigned on 18 December 2015 during the tense negotiations between Junts pel Si and the CUP. Boya was elected regional parliamentarian. She was present at the plenary sessions of Parliament, which voted for the roadmap for independence for Catalonia and voted for the Unilateral Declaration of Independence for Catalonia.

In the elections of 21 December 2017, of the 5,265 votes cast in Val d’Aran, the CUP received 174 – 3.3% of the total.
