Mike Rockenfeller is one of the most popular and richest Racing Automobile Driver who was born on October 31, 1983 in Neuwied, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Mike Rockenfeller, born 31 October 1983, is known as “Rocky” and is currently a German professional racing driver. He competes in the DTM as an Audi factory driver. He was a driver for Audi Sport Team Phoenix and won his first DTM title.

Rockenfeller was an Audi factory driver in 2007 and raced an A4 DTM with Audi Sport Team Rosberg at the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. Rockenfeller also drove an Audi R10 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He was also a DTM driver and had some experience with Le Mans Prototypes cars. In 2008, he drove alongside Alexandre Premat for Audi Sport Team Joest in Le Mans Series. Rockenfeller, Premat, and Marc Gene won the 2008 1000km of Silverstone title, despite not winning any races. This was after a lap 46 accident involving the Peugeot 908 HDiFAP of Nicolas Minassian, Marc Gene, and Rockenfeller. Premat also took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He occupied the third Audi entry along with Premat, Lucas Luhr. Their entry qualified fifth and finished fourth overall. This was seven laps behind the winning team-mates Tom Kristensen, Rinaldo Capello and Allan McNish.

Rockenfeller started the 2010 racing season winning the Rolex 24 At Daytona overall in the Action Express Racing Porsche Riley with co-drivers João Barbosa, Terry Borcheller, and Ryan Dalziel.

In the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rockenfeller was involved in a horrific accident while passing a slower GTE vehicle at 5:49 into the race. Shortly after nightfall, he was involved in a violent crash at the kinks on the straight between Mulsanne Corner and Indianapolis after near contact with the number 71 car of Robert Kauffman. Rockenfeller then climbed from his car and jumped to safety over the Armco barrier. He sustained a small flesh wound on his right arm and was admitted into a hospital overnight for observation.

2005 was Rockenfeller’s breakthrough year. He was a Porsche factory driver and won his GT2 class driver title in the FIA GT Championship with Marc Lieb of GruppeM Racing. He won 6 classes, including the Spa 24 Hours. Rockenfeller won the GT2 class at 24 Hours of Le Mans. He was accompanied by Lieb and Leo Hindrey from Alex Job Racing. He raced again in 2006’s ALMS and Grand-Am series, for Alex Job. He won the ALMS at Houston, and was second in Petit Le Mans’ LMP2 class. Penske Racing drove a Porsche RS Spyder. He won two Grand-Am races.
