Brodeur’s 2008-09 AHL campaign was a success with the Rochester Americans. He posted an 18-13-4 record, with a 2.45 goals per game average and a.921 save rate, which were career highs.

Brodeur signed a one year contract with the NHL Ottawa Senators in the summer

2009. However, Brodeur was sent back to the AHL at training camp and assigned to the Binghamton Senators. Brodeur was called back to Ottawa in November 2009 after sustaining an injury to Senators’ goaltender Pascal Leclaire. On December 19, 2009, Brodeur made his NHL debut against the Minnesota Wild. He stopped 22 shots and helped Ottawa win 4-1. After his debut, he was returned to Binghamton. Brodeur was called from Binghamton on January 14, 2010 just hours before the Ottawa Senators’ opening faceoff. Brodeur made 32 saves to beat the New York Rangers 2-0 in his second NHL game. Brodeur’s NHL career ended with 7 appearances in seven games, a record that includes 3 wins and 1 loss.

Brodeur signed a contract with the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL) on March 15, 2012. After his offseason hip surgery, March 23 marked Brodeur’s first game in over a year. In a shootout, he lost the game to the Idaho Steelheads, 3-1.
