Mihail Venkov is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on July 28, 1983 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Mihail Angelov Venkov (Bulgarian Mikhail Angelov Venkov; born 28 July 1983, Sofia) is a Bulgarian footballer. He plays as a defender in Dobrudzha Dobrich.

Venkov signed a 2-year contract with Cherno More Varna on 8 July 2013. On 19 July, Venkov made his league debut against Chernomorets Bourgas. He played the entire 90 minutes.

On 29 May 2017, Venkov’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.

On 25 July 2018, following a short stint at Kazakhstan Premier League side Kyzylzhar, Venkov returned to Bulgaria, joining Chernomorets Balchik.

Venkov was brought up in Septemvri Sofia’s youth clubs. He then signed with Litex. He was then loaned to Belite orli Pleven for six months and was part of the B PFG. He was not able to play in the Litex team during the 2009/2010 or 2010/2011 seasons and was eventually transferred to Lokomotiv Plovdiv, July 2011. Venkov scored against Levski Sofia on 15 March 2012 in a quarter final match of the Bulgarian Cup. This goal was enough to tie the score at 1-1, and send the game into overtime. Plovdiv won the match 2-1.

Venkov was a member of the Bulgarian national under-21 football team from 2002 to 2005. He has been playing for the Bulgarian national football team since 2004. He has been capped seven times by Bulgaria. After a long absence, Venkov was called up to the national team by Luboslav Penev in October 2012. He was there for two World Cup qualifiers against Denmark and Czech Republic. However, he was not used as a substitute. Venkov was recalled to the national side by Luboslav Penev in February 2015. After a shift in ownership at Lokomotiv Plovdiv, Venkov signed a contract to CSKA Sofia in the summer 2012. However, Venkov was initially unable for official matches due to a transfer ban that was imposed on “redmen”. Venkov made his official debut against Ludogorets Razgrad on 22 September 2012. In the 0-2 away victory, he scored his first goal for CSKA with a header against Slavia Sofia. Venkov played the entire 90 minutes of Levski Sofia’s 1-0 win in The Eternal Derby, his first appearance.

On 7 April 2015, Venkov scored his first goal for Cherno More in the 48th minute of a Bulgarian Cup match against Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Cherno More won 5–1. Having been appointed vice-captain for the 2014–15 season, Venkov was promoted to club captain after the departure of former captain Kiril Kotev in May 2015. On 23 May, Venkov signed a one-year contract extension with Cherno More until 30 June 2016. A week later, he received his first major honor with the Sailors, as he captained the team that eliminated Levski Sofia 2–1 in the 2015 Bulgarian Cup Final.
